Brown teddy bear with purple night cap and blanket

Drift Off to Dreamland with Lilli the Teddy Bear

Lilli Bear is a crochet teddy bear pattern. This amigurumi is a sleepy, snuggly teddy that will invite you to dream land. Her pattern is available on Etsy and Ravelry, or save her on Pinterest for later. Growing up my Grandma would make the people she loved stuffed animals for every occasion. She taught me how to sew, how to stuff evenly, how to be patient.

We would spend mornings at the fabric store picking out patterns and material, and the afternoon sewing and stuffing. She would explain the answers to the innumerable questions I posed with the patience only a Grandma has, with every stitch she instilled what a gift from the heart really meant.

Her favorite animal to make was a teddy bear, there are dozens of them in my collection from her. Each one is different, each one is perfect- she was notorious for scrapping anything less than that.

My favorite of them is sleepy bear, he’s floppy, snuggly, and makes you tired just looking at him. He molds into the shape of your arms when you hold him. I’ve wanted to design a bear in honor of her and inspired by sleepy bear. For years I’ve had many ideas, but nothing was ever quite right until now. I knew anything less than perfection wouldn’t suffice.

Lilli Bear is a sleepy, snuggly teddy that will invite you to dream land the way sleepy bear invites me to it. Her pattern is available on Etsy and Ravelry, or save her on Pinterest for later.
